[100% English] [Dieselmine] Violated Hero: -I Wanted to Chivalrously Save the World-

August 24, 2012

English patch v1.4!bEInzASI!fm6pkRn07QU4IZuGdR3rgHNbRGIlQbFnCWUecDintx8

If you already downloaded v1.0 from the other thread, don’t bother with the updated one. I only fixed two extremely minor issues in the text. Update: 1.2 fixes one more typo.
Update: 1.3 includes logo and title images plus translated misc images. 1.4 refixes the typo that 1.2 fixed…

The Game:

Violated Hero -I Wanted to Chivalrously Save the World- is a monster girl game featuring a male protagonist with game over rape. It’s like Monster Girl Quest, except without much semblance of a story or a decent battle system. It’s also pretty short, clocking in around an hour if you speed through the rape scenes. The only advantages it has over MGQ are a consistent art style and full voice acting for the female characters. There’s no explicit vore or death scenes, although it’s very heavy on sadomasochism.

Readme and Installation Instructions:

Acquiring the game:
You can buy the game from the English DLSite here:
If you don’t want to pay, well, you’re on the Internet. Finding it shouldn’t be too hard. If you like the game, I do suggest buying it, however. It’s very likely that this game only exists because of the commercial success of Monster Girl Quest. So if you want more monster girl games, support the people that create them for us.

Files in patch:
1. /English/ – directory of translated content
2. English patch install.bat – batch file for easy installation
3. English readme.txt – the file you’re reading now
4. kikiriki.exe – Phiber’s Kirikiri tool for extracting and decrypting the game files
5. madCHook.dll – library used by kikiriki for decryption

Easy Installation:
1. Copy all files in the archive into your Violated Hero directory.
2. Run the English patch install.bat batch file and wait for it to finish. If you’re using a weird operating system, you might not have xcopy and will have to manually copy the files from the English/ directory. You should be fine on XP/Vista/7 though.

Manual Installation:
1. Copy all files in the archive into your Violated Hero directory.
2. Open a command prompt and run “kikiriki.exe -i data.xp3 -o data” This will extract and decrypt the game files. If you have problems with the decryption, try adding “-e VH_game_executable.exe” to your arguments.
3. Rename or delete data.xp3 to prevent conflicts with the extracted files.
4. Copy everything from the English directory into the data directory, overwriting all files.

1. Defeat Dragona alone.
2. Lose to Dragona in combat.
3. Defeat Dragona with Relia. To get Relia to join you, defeat the angel, elf, and any two of the other women on the lower floor.

Changes from Japanese version:
1. Seed and enemies say different lines depending on current HP. This was incorrectly coded in the original.
2. The women you defeat on the upper level no longer have any bearing on your ending options.
3. Women on the lower floor give 25% more stat gains than upper floor women. The Japanese version has them give 50% LESS.
4. The elf gives hp instead of mp gains since mp isn’t as important.
5. Regular enemies on the lower floor give twice as large of stat bonuses as upper floor enemies.

Issues you might notice:
1. The quick save/load images that briefly appear aren’t translated, and neither are the upper/lower floor icons on the minimap. You probably won’t even see them.
2. A few lines might not word wrap correctly.
3. The history doesn’t word wrap at all.
4. In a couple places, the text will extend to a fourth line. You can still read it, at least.

Help, it didn’t work!
1. Run the game with your computer in Japanese locale. Also make sure you extracted the game in Japanese locale too. There are lots of tutorials for this on the Internet.
2. Make sure you have a /data folder but no data.xp3 file. Rename or delete data.xp3 if you do, otherwise the game will still be in Japanese.

Feel free to e-mail me with corrections or whatever.

Hi, i seem to be having this issue

I have no data.xp3 file and the issue remains even in Japanese locale. Any tips?

  2. I got this message with both Violated Hero 1 and 2 and it wont launch at all.

    • Error message isn’t helpful, unfortunately.

Does it work in Japanese? What happened to data.xp3 and the /English directory? You don’t need either after installing the English patch, but they also don’t delete themselves…

      • Ok I just had to manually install, but now i get this for VH 1.

I haven’t tried VH2 for eng yet but they both work perfectly fine in Japanese.

      • That error is supposed to pop up a script window showing which line caused the crash.

If the games work in Japanese in your VM, the problem would seem to be related to the English patch. Try this:
        – Put a fresh copy of the game in a new directory (make sure there aren’t any Japanese characters in the path too)
        – Run kikiriki.exe -i data.xp3 -o data
        – Rename data.xp3
        – See what happens when you run the game. If it still works,
        – Copy the English files into the data directory
        – See what happens when you run the game.

My gut feeling is that the problem is with kikiriki. It seems bizarre that you’d get an ANSI-UNICODE conversion error *after* installing the English patch instead of before.

      • I’m also using a virtual machine.

      • ;-; not working. Am I suppose to run kikiriki in the game folder or is extracting it in a separate location ok? I don’t know how to navigate in the command prompt so I have to use the default location it gives me. Also, is there suppose to be a little box with “Control” on it and a yellow zigzag and a red exit button and three other blue buttons? And is it possible to use machine translation like Atlas on this?

      • kikiriki really should be run from the game directory or else it isn’t going to decrypt the files properly. I bet that’s the issue you’re having. If that isn’t possible, you’ll want to explicitly give it the path of the game .exe (and the other files). Something like:

        kikiriki.exe -i C:\VH2\data.xp3 -o C:\VH2\data -e C:\VH2\VH2.exe

Navigating in a command prompt is really simple though.
        cd = change directory
        x: = change to drive x

      • HUZZAH!!!!! IT WORKS!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!

  3. kiririki.exe just disappears after i run it.

    • You aren’t supposed to run that. It’s a console application. Use the .bat file to install the patch and then just run the game .exe.

  4. the bat file says it can’t find kiririki.exe and says something about directory or file [D or F]

    YUS WORKS !!! thank you

I used the batch file, but after this i found that in data folder, your file in English folder doesn’t appear, it’s still the original file such as config …, The batch file and kiririki just use the data.xp3 file, they don’t use the file in your English folder?.? Sr for my bad English

is there a way to make the map larger or to lock it so north is always up? it shows very little and keeps on rotating, making it completely and utterly worthless.

I dont know if someone read this….but apparantly i am just to dumb to save a game file….i tried every key on the keyboard and nothing works.(Also read the readme.txt, but there was solution int it)The only thing that works is quick saving.Any help on this one would be great.

    • If you hover the mouse at the top of the screen, a drop down menu with a save feature appears. This only works in some places though.

  9. please can u make a video tutorial because this thing is not work for me

Hi, i get this pop up before and after i install the batch file and after i click okay more pop ups keep coming, help please.

    • You’re missing some files. Either you downloaded an incomplete version of the game or the patch install process went wild.

      • Anonymous permalink

Hmm, how can I know / fix to get the correct install process?

  13. Anonymous permalink

Yeah I downloaded a different version and its still the same outcome , the texts are a mix of English and Japanese.

  14. Anonymous permalink

It seems madCHook.dll is a potential virus

    • It’s a popular code hooking library that kikiriki uses to pull the decryption routine from the game’s exe in order to decrypt the game’s files. Some virus scanners think anything that hooks into another exe is a virus. Also, the library can and has been used by malware in the past, but it is not a virus on its own.

Do I need to download something else? I just downloaded the patch right of the bat.

  16. Zymemaru permalink

ok so I put all the stuff in the patch folder into the main folder and ran the bat file. it ran the cmd then when it finished I tried to open the exe for the game and got this error message

I’m sure my local is set to japanese so I’m not sure what i’m missing

Hey. I have the whole gallery but… How do I get this ending:

    • I think that’s an image from a completely different game that Dieselmine copied over into their VH files and never deleted.

  18. Jam permalink

Hey, when I run the English patch install, the window opens and then disappears instantly. I’ve copied all of the files from the patch to the game directory, my system locale is in Japanese, and the game works in Japanese just fine. Is there something I’m doing wrong?

    • Jam permalink

Nevermind, I solved the problem. I just had to copy the game into my local disk and then the patch worked.

  19. MetsuChinko permalink

helllo dear dargoth I need your help! Apparently Kikiriki doesn’t work on Win10, I tried the patch install it didn’t work because it didn’t found the XP3 even if he was on the same directory and so I tried the manual installation but when I put the console command it tells me that kikiriki doesn’t work on my PC! Whyyy goood!

    • MetsuChinko permalink

Apparently it worked when I tried to put the game in my program files buuut it is still in japanese. I us a local emulator to make the game works, so I can’t see the problem 😦

  20. Anonymous permalink

thank you,, it looks like it works fine. nice job

  21. Anonymous permalink

I downloaded the game, successfully patched in English. However whenever I start the game I get a random error message and the game freezes. Then some weird bar appears on the right side and the game doesn’t proceed to play any fix would be appreciated.

  22. Anonymous permalink

how do you import the 100% save file to the game?

  23. Anonymous permalink

So uh, I got this problem when I try to run the .exe file for the game. My system is on Japanese locale and I’ve tried to patch it, the cmd with all the lines goes through but I get a pop-up saying “cannot open file ….kikiriki.exe”. After that, the cmd asks me if “data” is a file or a folder, so I chose folder, since that’s what it was supposed to be.

The cmd part, the part where you are going to start “kikiriki.exe -i data.xp3 -o data” isn’t too understandable to me, what’s the first line in cmd? start? I’ve looked at other comments for a solution to this and I can’t even start the .exe with the path by going through “properties”, since there isn’t any path line to write. I’m on W7 if that’s any help!
